Tips to maximise your sales this Christmas
Nobody needs reminded about how important sales during the golden quarter are for your business. But it can be hard to remain organised when it’s so busy. Here are some tips from our team to help keep your stock levels on track and your sales flowing.
1. Order in plenty of time
The sooner you can get stock, the sooner you can sell it! If weekends are your peak times, we recommend ordering at the start of the week to make sure you have everything you need for your customers. At Bookspeed we pride ourselves on quick order turnarounds, and we’re on hand for top-up orders throughout the month. However, we recommend getting those orders for Christmas stock in by 19 December (earlier if not in mainland UK).
2. Monitor your stock levels daily
Keep a daily check on your stock levels. Reorder fast moving items quickly and remember to check stock availability on our website for anything popular. If it’s not in stock, it will take us between five to ten working days to source it for you, so order promptly, or select in-stock alternatives using the labels on our website as a guide.
3. Choose products with a strong sales history
At this time of year, nobody wants to take a risk with a product that doesn’t sell. It’s easy to identify bestsellers on the Bookspeed website. You can choose from our Bestseller collections, which are regularly refreshed based on the latest data. You can also find the most popular titles on any theme, using the “sort by bestseller” feature.
4. Think beyond Christmas
It’s hard to see past the big day, but people will still want to buy from you in January if you have the right items. Many gifting books will remain relevant and popular in the new year, so don’t fret too much about having stock you can’t sell. Instead start switching to items with longevity. Our New Year, New You collection offers plenty of inspiration.
5. Look after yourself
And finally, don’t forget self-care! Take breaks, stay hydrated, don’t skimp on nutrition. I’m sure we don’t need to preach! It’s all easier said than done, of course, you’re your friendly Bookspeed account manager is always available at the other end of an email for some seasonal solidarity.
