Edinburgh is undeniably one of Europe’s most picturesque cities. From the historic Old Town to the Georgian New Town, bohemian Stockbridge to blustery Portobello Beach, the charms of Scotland’s capital go far beyond its long history: vibrant places to eat and drink, abundant green spaces, and a welcoming spirit. Add to that a festival calendar that draws artists year-round from across the globe (to say nothing of the Edinburgh Festival and Fringe), and visitors won't even notice the temperamental weather and punishing hills (much).
