PRESTON BUSES BEFORE AND AFTER DEREGULATION (PB)

Mike Rhodes hails from Preston and became interested in both road and rail transport from an early age. He has published several books and has been photographing buses since 1974. Here, rare and previously unpublished images document the years surrounding deregulation in Preston. Rhodes documents the rise of the Preston Corporation Tramways in 1904 and provides a detailed look at the evolution of public transport in Preston, including the Corporation’s battle with United Transport in 1980.
