The embossed and foil-stamped cover of this notebook is complemented by the binding and rose-red end papers. Practical features include a pocket at the back, two ribbon markers, and robust ivory paper (dot grid). William Morris was an architect, writer, socialist and artist. He is best known today for his superb furnishings and textile designs, which intricately weave together natural motifs in a highly stylized two-dimensional fashion influenced by medieval conventions. This iconic seaweed design was created for Morris & Co. by John Henry Dearle in 1901.
