Detective Chief Inspector Ryan retreats to Holy Island on forced sabbatical from being a homicide detective. Just before Christmas he is thrust back into the murky world of murder when a young woman is found dead amongst the ruins of the nearby Priory. When former local Dr Anna Taylor returns as a police consultant she must confront her past.
