JIKONI: PROUDLY INAUTHENTIC RECIPES / IMMIGRANT KITCHEN (HB)

Recipes from Asia, Africa and the Middle East, inspired by the author's mixed heritage and the kitchens she grew up in. Ravinder Bhogal was born in Kenya to Indian parents, and moved to London as a child. Her recipes are lawless concoctions which cross continents and draw on multiple traditions: Cauliflower popcorn with black vinegar dipping sauce; Spicy aubergine salad with peanuts; Herbs and jaggery fox nuts; Skate with lime pickle brown butter; Tempura samphire and nori; Lamb and aubergine fatteh. The tastes and smells of this proudly inauthentic 'immigrant cuisine' are sophisticated, welcoming, fresh, exciting and bold.
