The 2020 edition of the ‘yellow book’ is packed with hundreds of gardens to visit, from baronial estates to cottage gardens, with opening dates and times, directions, admission charges, facilities, attractions and details on the owners’ chosen charities, as well a handy guide to where to pick up horticultural bargains at charity plant sales. Scotland’s Gardens Scheme continues to celebrate the theme of ‘gardens and health’, and this year looks at the role of gardens in supporting wildlife and biodiversity, so the guide includes tips for creating a wildlife-friendly garden, accompanied by photographs.
