Description
Pabay lies in Skye’s Inner Sound, off the town of Broadford. Many visitors since the first holy men built their chapel there have felt the island was a spiritual place, including the great 19th century geologists Hugh Miller and Archibald Geikie, for whom Pabay’s rocks and fossil-laden shales revealed much about the nature of creation itself. With a close family connection to the island, and having spent long periods there himself, Professor Whatley here tells its story for the first time.
