Description
Only one man has ever been convicted of the bombing of Pan Am flight 103, in which 270 people were killed – the alleged Libyan spy Abdelbaset al-Megrahi. Douglas Boyd, author of both fiction and non-fiction books on espionage and warfare, argues that it was Iran, not Libya, which was responsible for the attack. He pursues the line that Iran acted in retaliation for the shooting down of Iran Air flight 655 by the USS Vincennes in July 1988, but political expediency over Iranian support for the Gulf War resulted in a cover-up.
