HILL OF THE RED FOX (KELPIES)

A thriller in the vein of Kidnapped and The Thirty-Nine Steps. It is the height of the Cold War. Thirteen year-old Alastair, living in London, is thinking only of the long summer holiday to come on the Isle of Skye, away from his mother and aunt. But on the journey there, a stranger thrusts a note into his hand then jumps from the train. Worse, he instantly mistrusts the dour Murdo Beaton, with whom he’s staying. As he adjusts to crofting life, Alastair realises that somewhere in the idyllic landscape a secret is hiding - and his life may be in danger.
