ROWING AFTER THE WHITE WHALE (PB)

Over a boozy Sunday lunch, flatmates James Adair and Ben Stenning made a promise to row across an ocean. Their thoughts turned to the Indian Ocean, longer and tougher than the Atlantic and having seen fewer people row across its waters than have walked on the Moon. With only three months’ training on the Thames to prepare them, and no previous experience of rowing or sailing, it looked like a 3,500 mile challenge neither man should have ever considered.
