Brighter days and milder temperatures still seem far away, but for those of us working in retail we’re already thinking about how to bring the next season to life.
Ahead of the upcoming trade shows, we wanted to share some key themes to inspire your product ranges for spring and summer.
Coastal life
The “coastal grandmother” aesthetic has emerged online in the last couple of years bringing seaside-inspired accents and motifs to the forefront of home design and fashion. But as islanders, does our love for beach life ever wane? Whether we’re sea-swimming, shell-collecting, or enjoying coastal walks, the edges of our island will always appeal for days out or holidays, especially in spring and summer when the breezes feel less sharp, and the sun makes the water sparkle a little brighter.
In books, wild swimming continues to be a popular theme and there are some great new titles in this area we’re excited to showcase. We’ve also noticed some lovely titles on coastal cuisine, pebble-spotting, and plenty of seaside-themed activity books for children.

We’re spotting the most gorgeous floral designs on book covers this year. Perfect for spring and summer. We especially love the stunning botanical-themed jigsaws from Kew Gardens. As biophilic design continues to dominate interiors trends, we expect flowers to take centre stage in many homes this spring and summer. Curiosity about how to enjoy flowers sustainably will also grow. Gardening as a pastime has broadened its appeal, growing as an activity that’s embraced by all age groups, from twenty-something couples cultivating indoor gardens in small flats to single thirty-somethings growing their own veg in an urban allotment. We’ll be showcasing a bolstered gardening range at this year’s trade shows, offering both beautiful and practical titles aimed at everyone from the newbie gardener to the dedicated botanist, and covering the latest gardening trends.

After years of beige, grey and 50 shades of white dominating interior designs, colour is back. Expect earthy tones, joyful pinks and bold, bright blues, and more. Latest interiors trends are drawing from the rainbow and encouraging creativity and self expression. Books on this theme are in abundance for the new season. So, if you’re looking to inject some colour into your own product ranges, bold interiors books will definitely stand out, while appealing to trendsetters who like to take a playful approach to decorating their homes.
